لَقَدindeed بِتُّI have become مَحسوداًenvied عَلَيكَon your account لِأَنَّنيbecause I
لَقَد بِتُّ مَحسوداً عَلَيكَ لِأَنَّني
فَتاكَyour servant وَهَلand (introducing a question) غَيرُanyone other than المُنَعَّمِthe favored one يُحسَدُis envied
فَتاكَ وَهَل غَيرُ المُنَعَّمِ يُحسَدُ
I have indeed become envied on your account, for I am
I have grown envious of you, for I
your servant—and is anyone but the favored envied?
Am a youth, and who but the fortunate envied?
فَلاso do not تُبلِغِgive الحُسّادَthe envious مِنّيfrom me شَماتَةًgloating at misfortune
فَلا تُبلِغِ الحُسّادَ مِنّي شَماتَةً
فَفِعلُكَfor your conduct مَحمودٌpraiseworthy وَأَنتَand you مُحَمَّدُMuhammad
فَفِعلُكَ مَحمودٌ وَأَنتَ مُحَمَّدُ
So do not give the envious cause to gloat over me;
So tell not the envious of me, exulting;
for your conduct is praiseworthy, and you are Muhammad.
Thy deed is praised, and thou art extolled.
