أَذِنتُكِI permit you تَرتابينَyou doubt فيin الشَمسِthe sun وَالضُحىand the morning light
أَذِنتُكِ تَرتابينَ في الشَمسِ وَالضُحى
وَفيand in النورِthe light وَالظَلماءِand the darkness وَالأَرضِand the earth وَالسَماand the sky
وَفي النورِ وَالظَلماءِ وَالأَرضِ وَالسَما
I grant you leave to doubt the sun and morning light,
I let you hesitate in the sun and the forenoon
And light and darkness, and the earth and sky;
And in the light and the darkness and the earth and the sky
وَلاand do not تَسمَحيallow لِلشَكِّfor doubt يَخطِرُarise خَطرَةًeven once
وَلا تَسمَحي لِلشَكِّ يَخطِرُ خَطرَةً
بِنَفسِكِin your mind يَوماًever أَنَّنيthat I لَستُam not مُغرَماin love
بِنَفسِكِ يَوماً أَنَّني لَستُ مُغرَما
But do not allow even a fleeting doubt to arise
And do not allow doubt to cross your mind
In your mind, ever, that I am not in love.
For a moment that I am not infatuated
