لا تَعجَبوا فَمَليكُكُم لَعِبَت بِهِ

لا تَعجَبوا فَمَليكُكُم لَعِبَت بِهِ

أَيدي البِطانَةِ وَهوَ في تَضليلِ

أَيدي البِطانَةِ وَهوَ في تَضليلِ

Do not be astonished, for your king has been toyed with

Don't be surprised, for your king is a plaything

By the hands of his inner circle, while he is being misled.

In the hands of the inner circle, while lost

إِنّي أَراهُ كَأَنَّهُ في رُقعَةِ ال

إِنّي أَراهُ كَأَنَّهُ في رُقعَةِ ال

شِطرَنجِ أَو في قاعَةِ التَمثيلِ

شِطرَنجِ أَو في قاعَةِ التَمثيلِ

Indeed, I see him as though on the board of

I see him as if he were on a chessboard

Chess, or in a theater hall.

Or in a theatre of the absurd
