قَد قَرَأناكُمُ فَهَشَّت نُهانا

قَد قَرَأناكُمُ فَهَشَّت نُهانا

فَاِقتَبَسنا نوراً يُضيءُ السَبيلا

Indeed, we have read you, and our minds rejoiced;

We have read you and so our minds expanded

So we borrowed a light that illuminates the path.

We have drawn from you a light to brighten the path

فَاِقرَأونا وَمَن لَنا أَن تُصيبوا

فَاِقرَأونا وَمَن لَنا أَن تُصيبوا

بَينَ أَفكارِنا شُعاعاً ضَئيلا

بَينَ أَفكارِنا شُعاعاً ضَئيلا

So read us—and who can assure us that you will find

So read us, and grant that you might find

Among our thoughts a faint ray?

Among our thoughts a slender ray
