I felt for her a passion no mother of an only son has felt,
I felt for her what the mother of an only child has never felt,
nor Hubbā in her passion for the son of Umm Kilab.
Nor the passion of Hubba for the son of Umm Kilab.

She saw him long of forearm, tall and sturdy,
She saw him long of arm, a vigorous youth,
with the strength and youth she desired.
Just as she desires of strength and youth.
