إِذا ما جَعلنا مِن سَنامٍ مَناكِباً

إِذا ما جَعلنا مِن سَنامٍ مَناكِباً

وَرُكناً مِنَ البَقّارِ دونَكَ أَعفَرا

وَرُكناً مِنَ البَقّارِ دونَكَ أَعفَرا

When we have placed the shoulders of Sanām

When we make the backs of idols into saddles

When we made the slopes of Sanam our shoulders,

and an earth-colored flank of al-Baqqār between us and you.

And a pillar of dung beneath you more yellow

And the dusty ridge of Al-Baqqar lay before you.
