فَقلتُ لَهُ لا تَبكِ عَينَكَ إِنَّهُ

بِكَفيَّ ما لاقيتُ إِذ حانَ موجبي

بِكَفيَّ ما لاقيتُ إِذ حانَ موجبي

So I said to him, “Do not make your eye weep, for

So I said to him, do not cry your eyes, for

So I said to him, 'Let not your eye weep, for surely,

what I suffered was my own two hands’ doing, when my due punishment came.”

With my palms what I have met, when my time has come

By my own hands I met my fate when my time came due.'
