حزتَ الرئاسة في الآفاق قاطبةً
ياO بطرسُPeter الحِبرُthe pontiff إذwhen خاطبتَyou addressed مولاكاyour Lord
يا بطرسُ الحِبرُ إذ خاطبتَ مولاكا
You attained primacy across all horizons,
You have attained supreme leadership everywhere,
O Peter, pontiff, when you addressed your Lord:
O Peter the pontiff, when you addressed your Master.
أنتyou المسيحُthe Messiah وابنand the Son اللَهGod منقذُناour deliverer
أنت المسيحُ وابن اللَه منقذُنا
طوباكblessed are you ياO صخرةَrock الإيمانfaith طوباكاblessed are you
طوباك يا صخرةَ الإيمان طوباكا
"You are the Messiah and the Son of God, our deliverer."
You are the Christ and the Son of God who saves us.
Blessed are you, O rock of faith, blessed are you!
Blessed are you, rock of faith, blessed are you!
سلطانُكyour authority العامُuniversal بالإطلاقِwithout restriction عمَّextend everywhere بهwith it
سلطانُك العامُ بالإطلاقِ عمَّ به
غرباًwestward وشرقاًand eastward لأنbecause اللَهGod ولّاكاappointed you
غرباً وشرقاً لأن اللَه ولّاكا
Your universal, unrestricted authority—extend it
Your absolute rule spreads everywhere,
Westward and eastward, for God has appointed you.
East and west, for God has appointed you.
ارعَtend خرافيmy lambs خرافيmy lambs أمتيmy community أمميmy nations
ارعَ خرافي خرافي أمتي أممي
ارعَtend نعاجيmy ewes مُunclear; possibly 'no' الأسيادُthe masters إلاكاexcept you
ارعَ نعاجي مُ الأسيادُ إلاكا
Tend my lambs—my lambs are my community, my nations.
Feed my sheep, my nation, my peoples,
Tend my ewes; [no] masters but you.
Feed my ewes, O master, I entrust them to you.
خذtake المفاتيحَthe keys للإطلاقfor loosing أُطلِقُI loose ماwhatever
خذ المفاتيحَ للإطلاق أُطلِقُ ما
حلَّلتَyou have loosed واربُطand bind فربُّfor the Lord الأمرcommand أعطاكاhas given you
حلَّلتَ واربُط فربُّ الأمر أعطاكا
Take the keys for loosing; I loose whatever
Take the keys to loose and bind what
You have loosed; and bind, for the Lord of command has given them to you.
You make lawful or forbidden, for the Lord has given them to you.
عليكَupon you ياO صخرةَrock الإيمانfaith قدalready بُنيتhas been built
عليكَ يا صخرةَ الإيمان قد بُنيت
كنيسةُthe Church اللَهGod تنحوtends نحوtoward معناكاyour meaning
كنيسةُ اللَه تنحو نحو معناكا
Upon you, O rock of faith, has been built
Upon you, O rock of faith, is built
The Church of God, tending toward what you signify.
God’s church inclining towards your meaning.

You signify a rock, a foundation forever firm.
Your meaning is a firm, steadfast rock,
Upon you, through us, your edifice is built in faith.

ارجِعreturn وثبِّتِand strengthen اِخوَتكَyour brothers الذينwho إذاwhen
ارجِع وثبِّتِ اِخوَتكَ الذين إذا
تغربلواthey were sifted قامstood فيهمamong them صدقُthe truth نجواكاyour whispered counsel
تغربلوا قام فيهم صدقُ نجواكا
Return and strengthen your brothers; when

No one was a believer in me who strayed from you and from
He was no believer in me who turned away from you and from
The teaching of your most excellent Church, and disobeyed you.
Your supreme fellowship’s teaching and disobeyed you.
