What a joy, through which the mind soars!

Oh, what joy fills the mind and makes it soar

And the heart flies in longing and exultation,

The heart takes flight, filled with longing and delight

عندما زارت البتول اشتياقاً

عندما زارت البتول اشتياقاً

ورضاءً ليَشبَعا ضمن نجوى

ورضاءً ليَشبَعا ضمن نجوى

When the Virgin visited out of longing

When the maiden came to visit, seeking

And contentment, that both might be sated in intimate converse.

To fulfill her wish through intimate discourse

ملأت بيتَها حبوراً ونوراً

ملأت بيتَها حبوراً ونوراً

وسروراً وبهجةً ثم رَضوى

وسروراً وبهجةً ثم رَضوى

She filled her house with rejoicing and light,

She filled her home with scent and light

And gladness and delight, then Radwa.

With joy and rapture, then tranquility

فكأن المكان للرب عرشٌ

فكأن المكان للرب عرشٌ

وكأن البتول في العرش مثوى

وكأن البتول في العرش مثوى

So it was as though the place were a throne for the Lord,

It was as though this place became God's throne

And as though the Virgin were His dwelling within the throne.

And the maiden found her dwelling in this throne

زكريّا أبشرْ بأسنى رسولٍ

زكريّا أبشرْ بأسنى رسولٍ

مذ رأيت الإله عندك يُحوَى

مذ رأيت الإله عندك يُحوَى

Zechariah, rejoice at the most radiant messenger,

Zechariah, rejoice, for the finest messenger

Since you have seen God held within your home.

Since I have seen God sheltered with you
