The womb of Mary the Virgin bears a wonder:

A ruler of three, each a wonder:

The earth, the sea, and the celestial spheres, all together.

Thus they bow to him in servitude and tremble in awe.

And in governing these two—land and sea—he is a father.

Heaven bows to him, and the earth, humbled.

And the servant observes decorum in the master's presence.

And indeed a purified maiden's womb has held him,

When he poured upon her blessings that flowed forth.

Blessed is a mother whom grace enfolded, decreeing

That the Maker of all, though vast and boundless,

Be held within her womb, having come confined

Within it, while the worlds are drawn along in his palm.

Your glad tidings, Mary, have come wondrously,

From heaven; to the Virgin they belong.

Fruitfulness from the Spirit—the Holy Spirit—has settled within her.

God has a wondrous dwelling among humankind.
