Stop; let us weep for a soul whose conceit spells its death.
Stop lamenting a soul amazed at its death
Why, then, is it proud, when decay is in its very being?
Why be amazed when decay is inherent?

Do not transgress, but be amazed at its amazement
and see in those qualities the hypocrisy of their bearers.
For you will see hypocrisy in its attributes
