لنا نحو العلا باباً ومرقى

O Mother of the Savior, you will never cease to be

O Mother of the Savior, you will remain

for us a gateway and a way of ascent toward the heights.

For us the gate and path to sublime heights

أغيثي مَن هوى في كل مهوىً

أغيثي مَن هوى في كل مهوىً

لينهض إنَّك المأمول عُتقا

لينهض إنَّك المأمول عُتقا

Rescue whoever has fallen into every abyss,

Aid me, fallen in every deep abyss

so he may rise; you are the hope of deliverance.

That I may rise, for you are hope's release

وَلَدتِ والطبيعةُ في ذهولٍ

وَلَدتِ والطبيعةُ في ذهولٍ

أباكِ ابناً لكِ ربّاً محقّا

أباكِ ابناً لكِ ربّاً محقّا

You bore, while nature stood bewildered,

You gave birth while nature was confounded -

your Father as your son, the true Lord.

نراكِ على ظروف زمان حملٍ

وميلادٍ لكِ عذراءَ حقّا

We see you, throughout the course of pregnancy

We see you in this age's circumstance

and your giving birth, truly a virgin.

And for you, truly a virgin's birth
