O mother of a child who came for our salvation,
O mother of a child who came for our salvation
You surpassed all mothers among humankind in chastity.
You exceeded the chastity of mothers in creation
كمhow great بينbetween مولودٍa child أتىcame متدنساًdefiled
كم بين مولودٍ أتى متدنساً
نفساًin soul ومولودٍand a child أتاناcame to us أطهراmost pure
نفساً ومولودٍ أتانا أطهرا
How great the difference between a child who came defiled
What a difference between a child who came defiled
In soul, and a child who came to us most pure!
In spirit and a child who came to us more pure
يَحتاجneeds عتقاًrelease ذاكthat one منfrom آثامهhis sins
يَحتاج عتقاً ذاك من آثامه
حقّاًindeed وهذاand this one يعتقsets free المستأسراthe captive
حقّاً وهذا يعتق المستأسرا
That one needs release from his sins,
The former needs ransom from his sins
Indeed; but this one sets the captive free.
