Mortals truly cling
The people of luxury cling truly
To three things, as to three lords:
To three like the three masters -
كبرٌpride وحبُّand love of غنىًwealth كذاكlikewise وشهوةٌand lust
كبرٌ وحبُّ غنىً كذاك وشهوةٌ
ياO ويلهمwoe to them منfrom مالكmaster of الأرقابthe necks
يا ويلهم من مالك الأرقاب
Pride, love of wealth, and likewise lust.
Pride, love of wealth, and lust,
Oh, woe to them from the Master of necks!
Woe to them from the Lord of necks!
