إن الملائك بالطهارة والتقى

إن الملائك بالطهارة والتقى

نورٌ أضا الرهبان في نسكٍ أضا

نورٌ أضا الرهبان في نسكٍ أضا

Indeed, the angels, through purity and piety,

The angels shine with purity and devotion

Are a light that illumined the monks in ascetic devotion that shone.

The monks glow with religious zeal in their cloisters

وكذلك الرهبان نورٌ ساطعٌ

وكذلك الرهبان نورٌ ساطعٌ

في ليل باقي الناس لما أومضا

في ليل باقي الناس لما أومضا

And likewise, the monks are a radiant light,

And so the monks radiate brilliant light

In the night of the rest of humankind, when it flashed forth.

While the rest of mankind sleeps through the night's darkness

فتيقّظوا يا من أرانا نورُكم

فتيقّظوا يا من أرانا نورُكم

سبُلَ الهدى ألّا تميلوا في القضا

سبُلَ الهدى ألّا تميلوا في القضا

So be vigilant, O you whose light has shown us

Awaken, you whose light shows us

The paths of guidance, lest you stray in judgment.

The paths of guidance - do not waver in your judgement
