لاnot يُهملُabandons اللَهGod إنساناًa person بتجربةٍin a trial
إلّاexcept ليعلمَso that he may learn فرطَthe extent of الوهنfrailty والضعْفِand weakness
God does not leave a human being alone with a trial,
God does not abandon a person in a trial,
save that he learn from the extremity of frailty and weakness.
Except that he may learn the extent of frailty and weakness.
ومنand whoever جرىtook its course ضُعفهhis weakness يَجنيreaps تواضعَهhis humility
كمُدنِفٍlike one gravely ill ذلَّwas humbled لماwhen حسَّbecame aware بالحتفِof death
And he whose weakness runs its course reaps humility,
And he whose weakness takes its course reaps his humility,
like a sinner brought low when he senses death.
Like one gravely ill, humbled when he sensed death.
فَقدُloss الكمالperfection بفقدthrough the loss of الإتضاعhumility فإنso if
أدركتَyou grasped هذاthis ظفرتَyou attained بذلكto that الوصفquality
For perfection is lost when humility is lost; and if
Perfection is lost through the loss of humility; so if
you grasp this, you will attain that quality.
You grasp this, you attain that quality.
ومركزand the center of الكلit all تأديبٌdiscipline بتجربةٍthrough a trial
كالنومlike sleep ليسthere is not لهfor it مأوىa refuge سوىexcept الطرفthe eye
At the heart of it all is discipline through trial,
And the center of it all is discipline through trial,
like sleep, which has no refuge but the eye.
Like sleep, which has no refuge but the eye.
