لا تشهدنَّ شهادةً منقولةً

أبداً ولو سمعت بها أُذُناكا

Do not give secondhand testimony,

Never bear witness to hearsay,

ever, even if your two ears have heard of it.

قد يدرك الغشُّ الحواسَ بفعله

قد يدرك الغشُّ الحواسَ بفعله

حتى تَغُشَّك غالباً عيناكا

حتى تَغُشَّك غالباً عيناكا

Deception may reach the senses through its workings,

Deception may fool the senses through its acts,

to the point that your two eyes often deceive you.

So that your eyes are often deceived.
