We beheld two Adams together, yet
We saw two Adams together, yet
in what they were, each stood opposed to the other.
They stood opposed in what they were.

One Adam arose from the earth’s dust,
For one Adam arose from the earth’s dust,
and an Adam from God’s heaven drew near.
And another Adam drew near from God’s heaven.
فذاكso that one أماتَناput us to death نفساًin soul وجسماًand in body
بماthrough what أبداهhe displayed it منof خُلفِcontradiction العِيانplain sight
That one dealt us death in soul and body
So that one put us to death, soul and body,
through what he brought forth from beyond the realm of sight;
Through the contradiction of plain sight he displayed.

while this one came to us in perfect righteousness
And this one came to us with perfect righteousness,
and revived two dead ones—he fashioned their forms.
So he revived a dead man with a worn-out frame.
فكانso was الأولُthe first الثانيthe second بمعنىًin one sense
وثانٍand a second أولاًfirst أحدone of المعانيthe senses
Thus the first was the second in one sense,
So the first was the second in one sense,
and the second was first in one of the senses.
And the second was first in one of the senses.
