ماhow أحسنَsplendid العقلَreason يجلوreveals فضلthe excellence of سيدهِits master
ما أحسنَ العقلَ يجلو فضل سيدهِ
وخيرهand his goodness فيin نعيمٍbliss شامخِlofty in الشرفِhonor
وخيره في نعيمٍ شامخِ الشرفِ
How splendid is reason, revealing its master's excellence
And his goodness amid bliss of lofty honor;
ويُظهرُand exposes العالمَthe world الغرّارَdeceitful مَضحكةًa laughingstock
ويُظهرُ العالمَ الغرّارَ مَضحكةً
تَنعىannounces the death of ذويهاits people كنَعيlike the death-announcement of السهمِthe arrow للهدفfor the target
تَنعى ذويها كنَعي السهمِ للهدف
And exposing the deceitful world as a laughingstock
That proclaims its people's doom, as an arrow does the target's.
