شِمْتُ العدوَّ مجرِّداً سيفَ الردى

And indeed I remembered you, O gentleness, when

I remembered you, oh tenderness, when

I beheld the enemy unsheathing the sword of death.

I sensed the enemy unsheathing the sword of destruction

فوددت تقبيل السيوف لأنها

فوددت تقبيل السيوف لأنها

تنبو إذا لاقيتها بك عن هُدى

So I longed to kiss the swords, for they

And I wished to kiss the swords for they

Glance off when, rightly guided, I face them with you.
