Indeed, the angels and mankind, all of them,

لو أسهبوا في وصف مريم مدحهم

بفصاحةٍ وبلاغةٍ لم تكذبِ

If they were to praise Mary with their eloquence,

with eloquence and rhetoric that did not lie,

Truthfully with authentic rhetoric,

حقّاً لأعجز مدحُهم مذ خصَّها ال

مولى الإله بمدحه المستعذبِ

truly their praise would fall short, since she was singled out by the
