O Mary, Virgin, I seek help from you,

because of your abundant mercies, for I am helpless.

يا مريمُ البكرُ من عهد الصبا شغفاً

خرجتُ أرجو الهدى منك لأنيَ غيْ

O Mary, Virgin, since the days of youth, with ardent love,

O chaste Mary, since my youth I have been passionate

I have set forth, hoping for guidance from you, for I am astray.

I went out hoping for guidance from you, for I am lost

يا مريم البكر جثماني وعافيتي

يا مريم البكر جثماني وعافيتي

والعمر أودعتها فيك وفيك حُيَي

والعمر أودعتها فيك وفيك حُيَي

O Mary, Virgin, my body and my health,

O chaste Mary, my body and my wellbeing

and my lifespan—I have entrusted them to you; in you is my life.

And my life I have entrusted in you, and in you I live

يا مريم البكر ضوءُ الحلم يدركني

يا مريم البكر ضوءُ الحلم يدركني

ينيرني في دجى الدنيا فلستُ بشي

ينيرني في دجى الدنيا فلستُ بشي

O Mary, Virgin, the light of forbearance reaches me;

O chaste Mary, the light of dreams reaches me

it illumines me in the world's darkness, for I am nothing.

It illuminates me in the gloom of the world, so I am not lost

يا مريم البكر لا زالت عجائبُها

يا مريم البكر لا زالت عجائبُها

أستشعر الغوث منها لي كغيث الري

أستشعر الغوث منها لي كغيث الري

O Mary, Virgin, may her wonders never cease;

O chaste Mary, your wonders still continue

I sense help from them for me, like rain that quenches thirst.

I feel relief from them for me, like rain relief

يا مريم البكر أمَّ اللَهِ فيك نجا

يا مريم البكر أمَّ اللَهِ فيك نجا

كل الملائك والناس اشفعي بيَ كي

كل الملائك والناس اشفعي بيَ كي

O Mary, Virgin, Mother of God, in you were saved

O chaste Mary, Mother of God through you salvation came

all the angels and people; intercede for me, so that—

To all the angels and people intercede for me, so I survive

يا مريم البكر غُوثيني بمكرمةٍ

يا مريم البكر غُوثيني بمكرمةٍ

وسكِّني بالدوا آلامَ داء الكَي

وسكِّني بالدوا آلامَ داء الكَي

O Mary, Virgin, help me with a gracious favor,

O chaste Mary, relieve me with benevolence

and soothe with medicine the pains of the burning affliction.

And calm me with medicine the pains of my suffering

يا مريم البكر كوني اليوم سامعةً

يا مريم البكر كوني اليوم سامعةً

صلاتنا واقبلي مني بُكا عينَي

صلاتنا واقبلي مني بُكا عينَي

O Mary, Virgin, be listening today

O chaste Mary, be listening today

to our prayer, and accept from me the weeping of my two eyes.

To our prayers and accept from me the tears of my eyes

يا مريم البكر فيك عيشنا أبداً

يا مريم البكر فيك عيشنا أبداً

وفوزنا وهنانا والثناء الحي

وفوزنا وهنانا والثناء الحي

O Mary, Virgin, in you is our life forever,

O chaste Mary, in you we live forever

and our triumph and happiness, and living praise.

And our triumph, and our bliss, and praise everlasting

يا مريم البكر من يدعُ اسمَكِ أبداً

يا مريم البكر من يدعُ اسمَكِ أبداً

في ضره فاز بالإنعام بعدَ الطي

في ضره فاز بالإنعام بعدَ الطي

O Mary, Virgin, whoever calls upon your name at any time

O chaste Mary, whoever calls upon your name

in his distress gains favors after the folding.

In their distress, attains favor after the burial

يا مريم البكر أنت العونُ في خطرٍ

يا مريم البكر أنت العونُ في خطرٍ

وكل ضيقٍ وأمرٍ قد يشُقُّ علَي

وكل ضيقٍ وأمرٍ قد يشُقُّ علَي

O Mary, Virgin, you are help in danger,

O chaste Mary, you are the help in danger

and every distress, and any matter that may be hard for me.

And in every strait and matter that is hard for me

يا مريم البكر إشفي كلَّ منسحقٍ

يا مريم البكر إشفي كلَّ منسحقٍ

قلباً بِطبِّ حنوٍّ جاز منك إلَي

قلباً بِطبِّ حنوٍّ جاز منك إلَي

O Mary, Virgin, heal everyone crushed

O chaste Mary, heal all the broken-hearted

in heart, with the medicine of tenderness that has passed from you to me.

With the medicine of tender affection that flows from you to me
