1. O Amro, if the Prophet Muhammad
Was afflicted with what cannot be averted

2. We were then afflicted by the loss of the Prophet and we sighed
As the dancing girls swayed their hips

3. Our hearts are wounded and our tears
Flow ceaselessly as the necks of the desert dwellers bowed down

4. O Amro, his life and his death
Affected us, as we see what we say and hear what is said

5. So standfirm, for you need not fear our return
O Amro, he is the most honourable and protected
