Alas damning the easy chair and she
who walked for a year with al-Karawwas in her womb.
Who for a year bore in her womb the easy chair
أَعِثيانُO ʿIthyān إِنif تُشرِفyou look down عَلىupon شِعبِthe ravine of ضاحِكٍḌāḥik
أَعِثيانُ إِن تُشرِف عَلى شِعبِ ضاحِكٍ

تَجِد فيهِ أَوصالَ القَعودِ المُكَردَسِ
O ʿIthyān, if you look down upon the ravine of Ḍāḥik,
Auathyan! If you were to look down upon a laughing ravine
you will find there the limbs of the young camel cast down in a heap.
You would find in it the limbs of those made lazy and crippled by the chair
