إِنَّindeed الَّذينَthose who اِستَحَلّواthey deemed lawful كُلَّevery فاحِشَةٍabomination

Indeed, those who deemed every abomination lawful
Those who made licit every abomination
Among forbidden deeds, after breaking the covenants,
Of forbidden acts, breaking their pledges,
قَومٍa people أَتَواthey came مِنfrom سَجِستانٍSijistan عَلىin عَجَلٍhaste

مُنافِقونَhypocrites بِلاwithout حِلٍّthe lawful وَلاnor حَرَمِthe sacred
A people who came from Sijistan in haste,
A people who came hastily from Sijistan
Are hypocrites, respecting neither the lawful nor the sacred.
Hypocrites, with no bonds or taboos,
ماnot كانَthere was فيهِمamong them وَقَدand already هُمَّتwere planned أُمورُهُمُtheir affairs
مَنanyone who يُستَجارُis asked for protection عَلىfor الإِسلامِIslam وَالحُرَمِand the sanctities
Among them, with their plans already laid, there was no one
When their affairs were in ferment,
Whose protection could be sought for Islam and its sanctities.
None could be entreated to protect Islam or its sanctuaries,
يَستَفتِحونَthey seek victory بِمَنthrough one who لَمdid not تَسمُrise سورَتُهُhis stature

بَينَamong الطَوالِعِthose rising بِالأَيديwith the hands إِلىtoward الكَرَمِnobility
They seek victory through one whose stature never rose
They sought victories through one whose chapter
Among those reaching upward with their hands toward nobility.
The daybreaks have not named, extending hands to generosity.
