لَقَدindeed كانَthere was فيin الدُنياthe world لِمُنيَةَfor Munya مَذهَبٌa place to go
لَقَد كانَ في الدُنيا لِمُنيَةَ مَذهَبٌ
وَمَتَّسَعٌand ample room عَنaway from نِصفِhalf of دارِthe house of اِبنِson of زافِرِZafir
وَمَتَّسَعٌ عَن نِصفِ دارِ اِبنِ زافِرِ
Indeed, Munya had somewhere to go in this world,
Death had a sure approach in this vain life,
And ample room away from half of Ibn Zafir’s house:
And an ample abode in Ibn Zafir’s house.
عَلالِيَّupper chambers فيin دارِthe house of اِبنِson of ظَبيانَZabyan تُرتَقىare ascended
عَلالِيَّ في دارِ اِبنِ ظَبيانَ تُرتَقى
وَفيand in الرَحبِthe spacious grounds مِنof دارَيthe two houses of حُرَيثِHurayth بنِson of جابِرِJabir
وَفي الرَحبِ مِن دارَي حُرَيثِ بنِ جابِرِ
Upper chambers in Ibn Zabyan’s house, to be ascended,
My litter climbed up to Ibn Dhubyan’s house,
And in the spacious grounds of Hurayth ibn Jabir’s two houses.
While in the ample yard of Huraith's house.
