Indeed, He who raised the sky built for us
He who set the sky with stars built for us
a house whose pillars are mightier and taller.
A house whose pillars are the strongest and tallest
بَيتاًa house بَناهُhe built it لَناfor us المَليكُthe Sovereign وَماand whatever بَنىbuilt

A house the Sovereign built for us; and whatever is built
A house the King built for us that will not
by Heaven’s Judge can never be moved.
Be moved, for heaven's Ruler decreed it be unshakeable

A house with Zurarah sitting, knees clasped, in its courtyard,
A house with courtyards where the valiant assemble
and Mujashiʿ, and Nahshal, father of horsemen.
And where the horsemen and their steeds mill about

They enter Mujashiʿ’s house; and when they sit with knees clasped,
They gather in the house of assemblies, and when called to arms
they stand forth like towering mountains.
They sally forth like mountains piled high

None like them sits with knees clasped in your house’s courtyard,
None equal them when they assemble in your house’s courtyard
ever, when the noblest deeds are reckoned.
If the most virtuous are enumerated

Because of their might, Kulayb has burrowed into its house,
From their valor the she-wolf dug her burrow
a pen, beside which they seem like lice.
As if they were her cubs there to suckle

The spider has spread its woven web over you,
The spider wove her web over you
and through it the revealed Book has passed judgment against you.
And the scripture sent down decreed your ruin

Where are those through whom you rival Darim in glory?
Where are those by whom our house was exalted
Or whom do you place alongside Tuhayyah’s two forefathers?
Or do I reckon you among departed ancestors?

They walk in rings of iron, as do
They walked through rings of iron as gently
mangy camels, smeared all over with pitch.
As branded camels walk over embers

And the protectors, when women ride one behind another,
The protectors when women are taken captive
fearing enslavement, their camels unsaddled.
Lest their beauty be despoiled and dishonored

When swords are drawn, our women are protected
Who guard our women when swords are rattling
by a wild onslaught that sends forearms falling.
Whose arms in battle flow like water from a skin

And many a crowned man, above whom flutter
And the crowned king above whom flutters
the banners of kings, with a vast army at his command—
The cloak of kings - for him the fifth is discord

a king toward whom our hands drive the spears,
A king whose realm is marched by our shoulders
from whom we give their breasts a second draught and a first—
From him we draw pride and gain sustenance

has died among our spearpoints, or felt the bite
He died among our ribs or was bitten
of a keen sword, by whose gleam kings are slain.
By a viper whose bite kills kings
