إِذاif ماemphatic particle أَتَيتَyou come to العَبدَthe slave موسىMusa فَقُلthen say لَهُto him
إِذا ما أَتَيتَ العَبدَ موسى فَقُل لَهُ
فَدَيتَyou ransomed مِنَfrom الأَسواءِmisfortunes موسىMusa اِبنَson of سالِمِSalim
فَدَيتَ مِنَ الأَسواءِ موسى اِبنَ سالِمِ
If you come to the slave Musa, say to him:
When you come to the slave Moses then say to him
You ransomed Musa son of Salim from misfortunes.
My soul is ransomed for Moses the son of Salem
عَفاhe pardoned بَعدَماafter أَدّىhe delivered إِلىto الحَيِّthe tribe ثَأرَهُits vengeance
عَفا بَعدَما أَدّى إِلى الحَيِّ ثَأرَهُ
وَأُبتَand you returned بُوَجهٍwith a face كاسِفِdowncast البالِin spirit نادِمِremorseful
وَأُبتَ بُوَجهٍ كاسِفِ البالِ نادِمِ
He pardoned after securing vengeance for the tribe,
He forgave after having taken vengeance on the living one
And you returned with a face clouded by dejection and remorse.
And turned away with a gloomy face, remorseful
