لَكُنتُ أَطوَعَ مِن ذي حَلقَةٍ جُعِلَت

في الأَنفِ ذَلَّ بِتَقوادٍ وَتَرسامِ

I would surely be more obedient than one with a ring set

مِن رُؤَساءٍ مَصاليتٍ وَأَحكامِ

from among chieftains, valiant men, and arbiters.

بَينَ الأَحاوِصِ مِن كَلبٍ مُرَكَّبُها

وَبَينَ قَيسِ اِبنِ مَسعودٍ وَبِسطامِ

وَبَينَ قَيسِ اِبنِ مَسعودٍ وَبِسطامِ
