I kept pelting the dog until I left him

Broken-winged, his splints unable to hold firm.

So he squatted on the tails of the basest folk,

In pain because of me, and his clans were humbled.

A brother to war: if it bites him, its fang grows blunt,

And foremost in the race for goals and the glory he strives to seize.
