لِكُلِّ الداءِ بيطارٌ وَعِلمٌ

لِكُلِّ الداءِ بيطارٌ وَعِلمٌ

وَبيطارُ الكَلامِ أَبو زِيادِ

وَبيطارُ الكَلامِ أَبو زِيادِ

Every ailment has its healer and its science;

And the healer of speech is Abu Ziyad.

مِدادٌ يُستَمَدُّ العِلمُ مِنهُ

مِدادٌ يُستَمَدُّ العِلمُ مِنهُ

فَيَرضى المُستَمِدُّ مِنَ المِدادِ

فَيَرضى المُستَمِدُّ مِنَ المِدادِ

Ink from which knowledge is drawn,

So the one who draws is satisfied with the ink.
