    Charge, O Junayd the good, a charge for God,

    And gladden eyes whose streaming tears never dry.

    For God has favored al-Junayd, and favored too are

    His two hands above the long-reaching hands, humbling them.

    No tribe's hands have flared in anger for God

    Against a polytheist, save with al-Junayd as its keen sword.

    Nor have mighty chiefs been mentioned before kings

    For surpassing bounty, save with al-Junayd as their noble champion.

    لَها وَعَلَيها حُلُّها وَحَرامُها

    His tribe is of Murrah, of Ghalib;

    Its lawful and forbidden deeds stand to its credit and its charge.

    إِلَيهِم تَناهَت حَربُها وَسَلامُها

    They have among Quraysh a lineage through Ghalib;

    To them devolved its war and its peace.

    Its glory branched from Ghayz, son of Murrah,

    Long ago—and they are the necks and crowns of Qays.
