وَباتَتand she spent the night كَدَوداةِlike the swing الجَواريof the girls وَبَعلُهاwhile her husband
كَثيرٌnumerous دَواعيurgings بَطنِهِof his belly وَقَراقِرُهand its rumblings
And she spent the night like the girls’ swing, while her husband
Had many urgings and rumblings in his belly.
وَيَحسَبُهاand he thinks she باتَتspent the night حَصاناًchaste وَقَدthough already جَرَتhad run
لَناfor us بُرَتاهاher two rings بِالَّذيwith that which أَناI شاكِرُهam grateful for
And he thinks she spent the night chaste, though
Her two rings had brought us what I am grateful for.
فَياso, O رَبِّmy Lord إِنif تَغفِرYou forgive لَناus لَيلَةَthe night of النَقاthe sandhill
فَكُلُّthen all ذُنوبيmy sins أَنتَYou ياO رَبِّmy Lord غافِرُهare its forgiver
So, my Lord, if You forgive us the night at the sandhill,
Then every sin of mine, You, my Lord, will forgive.
