Do you hope Banū Fuqaym will gain in stature—
You hope that the sons of Fuqaym will grow in stature—
their young—when their grown men have already proved wanting?
their young ones—though they have proved incapable as grown men.
إِذاwhen دَخَلواthey enter النِباجَal-Nibaj بَنَواthey build عَلَيهاupon it

Whenever they entered al-Nibāj, they built there
When they enter al-Nibaj, they build there
tents of ignobility, with their short poles.
houses of baseness and short pillars.
Fuqaym
وَإِنand if سارواthey travel بِأَقصىat the farthest reaches of الأَرضِthe earth ساراit travels
Ignobility settles wherever Fuqaym settles;
Baseness settles wherever Fuqaym settles,
and if they roam earth’s farthest reaches, it roams there too.
and if they travel in the earth’s farthest reaches, it travels too.
