أَهليmy family فِداؤُكَyour ransom ياO وَكيعُWakiʿ إِذاwhen بَداappeared
أَهلي فِداؤُكَ يا وَكيعُ إِذا بَدا
يَومٌa day كَعالِيَةِlike the tip of السِنانِthe spearhead يُسَعَّرُis set ablaze
يَومٌ كَعالِيَةِ السِنانِ يُسَعَّرُ
May my family be your ransom, O Wakiʿ, when there dawns
a day like a spear’s tip, set ablaze.
أَوقَعتَyou struck بِالبَلَدِin the land المُشَرِّقِeastern وَقعَةًa blow
أَوقَعتَ بِالبَلَدِ المُشَرِّقِ وَقعَةً
أَمسَتit became بِكُلِّin all بِلادِthe lands of قَومٍa people تُشهَرُwidely known
أَمسَت بِكُلِّ بِلادِ قَومٍ تُشهَرُ
You struck a blow in the eastern land
that became renowned throughout the lands of every people.
