وَلا عَدلِ ما أَضحى مِنَ الأَمرِ مايِلِ
By your life, none among the Azd upholds kingship,
By your life, among the Azd there is no ruler,
nor sets right what has gone awry in affairs.
Nor justice - the authority has declined.
وَلاnor ضَمَّهاunited them السُلطانُthe ruler قَسراًby force لِدَعوَةٍin answer to a call

فَتَرضى بِهَذا الحِلفِ بَكرُ اِبنُ وايِلِ
Nor did the ruler forcibly unite them in answer to a call,
Nor has the sultan gathered it by force for a cause,
so that Bakr ibn Wa'il might approve this alliance.
So Bakr, son of Wail, is content with this oath.
