Have you two not seen that the generous Ibn Maʿmar

has two palms of rain, whose steady showers overflow?

When the petitioners came to him, there poured upon them

the brimming buckets of his hands, and their destitute became self-sufficient.

The sons of Taym ibn Murrah raised him to glory,

and Quraysh's chieftains guarded his domain.

Nor can the two seas rival the house of Ghalib,

when its generous man is stirred one day to give.

And they are Islam's governors and the leaders whose

ruling authority one day stands above the rulers.
