You will face, at al-Muhassab in Mina,
You stand at Muzdalifah as if you are a proud man,
a contest of boasting; so tell me whom you boast of.
So tell me who you are in your pride.

Do you claim descent from Qays—Qays—or from Khindif,
Do you take pride in Qays ibn Qays or in Kindaf?
when her bellowing camel stallions roar?
When the valiant ones roar against it.

For Kulayb is of Tamim, and it was only
For Kulayb is from Tameem while in truth,
a fornicator from Qays ibn Aylan who brought you forth.
The one who took you in is 'Aahir from Qays ibn 'Ailan.
