1. O you who when you rule the country
Your proclamation is spread everywhere

2. It is only met with chains and lion cages
Whoever faces you becomes a prisoner

3. You have clothed it in darkness at noon
And filled it with light at nightfall

4. You have kindled it into a blazing fire
To bake the enemies at their time

5. For their wounds the spears become probes in the morning
And the stabbing swords, and the cries become embers
