1. Victory was promised to the victor
It was not present when he was absent
١. النَصرُ كانَ مُواعِداً لِلناصِرِ
ما كانَ يَحضُرُ وَهوَ لَيسَ بِحاضِرِ
2. And victory said, if succor comes to me
My soul suffices, without any soldiers
٢. وَالنَصرُ قالَ إِذا أَتاني نَجدَةً
فَبِنَفسِهِ يكفي بِغَيرِ عَساكِرِ
