1. Alas! If only my door knew
Whether to it I walked, or through it entered
2. And if the valiant were content with death amongst them
Then who in days of strife would battle?
3. My heedlessness matters not, for I walk with today
And oh my sorrow! Tomorrow I arrive
4. A sea whose pearls are lost in turbid depths
And safety's shore is distant from its sailor
5. If only I had ignorance in which life was sweet
For there is no life, but life ignorant and unknowing
