1. Beneath the raging sea lies land submerged by waves,
While above the sailing ship ascends dry earth it braves.
١. فَفي البَرِّ بَحرٌ قَد طَمى تَحتَ جَيشِهِ
وَفي البَحرِ بَرٌّ قَد عَلا فَوقَ فُلكِهِ
2. When God, the Ever-Merciful, wills the hour of their death,
That day of killing will resemble feast days, by His behest.
٢. إِذا كَبَّرَ الرَحمَنَ ساعَةَ قَتلِهِم
تَشابَهَ يَومُ القَتلِ مِنهُ بِنُسكِهِ
3. The Frankish tyrant thought no blade could make him bleed,
Yet here this sword now proves his boasts were but straw, indeed!
٣. وَطاغِيَةُ الإِفرَنجِ ما جازَ مَحكُهُ
عَلَينا وَهَذا السَيفُ جَذلُ مَحَكِّهِ
4. Though captive, faith within such prisoners was never bound,
No hand was spared that sought to loosen and unwound.
٤. وَفي أَسرِهِ الإيمانُ كانَ بِأَسرِهِ
فَلا عُدِمَت كفٌّ تَسامَت لِفَكِّهِ
