1. The cheek's mark, though it hurts my heart
In the gold cheeks' midst passing by
١. وَعَقرَبٍ في الخَدِّ قَد رابَني
في ذَهَبِ الخَدَّينِ مَمشاها
2. Inscribed it is, whilst the eye doth gaze,
Had we access, we would efface.
٢. مَكتوبَةٌ وَالعَينُ تَقرا فَلَو
أَمكَنَنا اللَثمُ مَحَوناها
