4. And all the followers of the pure Prophetic way
Who never deviated; they have a right to precedence.

5. They are the Prophet's companions; greet them loudly!
Greet the good! Were it not for them, there would be no Muslims on earth.

6. Were it not for them, it would collapse with its people.
But its pillars and stakes are they.

11. As for those who blame me for loving and befriending them,

15. Who burdened the lover's heart until
It is too weak to bear a shirt and pains.

16. Who subjugated them until they surrendered
To the madness of love; they do not twist nor stammer.

Death's threshing floors are above them; yet they covet.

19. Ask the passing breezes how they have borne
The love of a smitten one whose longing cannot be hidden.

20. For in their passing, they almost diffuse the passionโ€”
If only they could speak!

21. When longing and craving intensified,
And the beautiful patience was about to snap,

22. I would appease myself with the prospect of meeting,
And delude myself, though it imagines.

23. I would follow my gaze in your direction,
Imagining encampment and dwelling.

24. And I recall a verse said by one who passed,
Whose patience diverted him, so he was impassioned:

25. "I ask every departing and arriving person about you,
And gesture towards your homelands, sending greetings."

26. How long can an ardent lover endure
When the fire of grief burns within him?

27. Indeed! By the One to Whom the lovers made pilgrimage,
Circling with desire at the steep paths, robed in ihram.

ูˆูŽู„ุจูู‘ูˆุง ู„ู‡ู ุนู†ุฏูŽ ุงู„ู…ูŽู‡ูŽู„ูู‘ ูˆูŽุฃุญู’ุฑูŽู…ููˆุง

28. They called Him, so they answered readily,
Out of satisfaction and love, and He is nearer than them.

29. You see them disheveled on the hilltopsโ€”
Dusty, yet most content and blessed.

30. They left homeland and family out of desire,
Undeterred by pleasures or luxury.

ูฃู . ุฏุนุงู‡ูู…ู’ ูู„ุจูŽู‘ูˆู’ู‡ู ุฑูุถู‹ุง ูˆู…ูŽุญูŽุจูŽู‘ุฉู‹

31. They travel from its corners and crevicesโ€”
Men and ridersโ€”surrendering to God.

32. When their eyes saw His House which
The hearts of humankind yearn for, overcome with fervor,

33. It was as if they had never endured hardship,
For their fatigue vanished from them.

34. My God! How many tears poured forth,
And more poured, following in succession.

35. The lover's eye shone with its tears,
Seeing through the tears, recording.

36. When the eye saw it, its darkness dispersed,
As did the gloom from the somber heart.

37. The sight, seeing its beauty, does not recognize it
Until the eyes and longing return, greatest.

ูฃูง. ูˆูŽู‚ุฏู’ ุดูŽุฑูู‚ุชู’ ุนูŠู†ู ุงู„ู…ูุญูุจูู‘ ุจุฏูŽู…ู’ุนูู‡ุง
ููŠู†ุธุฑู ู…ูู† ุจูŠู†ู ุงู„ุฏูู‘ู…ูˆุนู ูˆูŠูุณู’ุฌูู…ู

38. No wonder, since the Most Merciful annexed it to Himself;
So it is most revered.

ูˆุฒุงู„ูŽ ุนู† ุงู„ู‚ู„ุจู ุงู„ูƒุฆูŠุจู ุงู„ุชุฃู„ูู‘ู…ู

39. He clothed it in the greatest garments of awe,
Upon which is embroidery, gloriously inscribed.

40. For this, all hearts love it,
Humbling in veneration and esteem.

ุฅู„ู‰ ู†ูุณูู‡ู ุงู„ุฑุญู…ู†ู ุ› ูู‡ูˆ ุงู„ู…ุนุธูŽู‘ู…ู

41. They set out to perform the rites, hopeful
Of mercy and forgiveness from The Generous, Noble.

ูคูก. ูƒุณูŽุงู‡ู ู…ู†ูŽ ุงู„ุฅุฌู’ู„ุงู„ู ุฃุนุธู…ูŽ ุญูู„ุฉู
ุนู„ูŠู‡ุง ุทูุฑุงุฒูŒ ุจุงู„ู…ูŽู„ุงุญูŽุฉู ู…ูุนู’ู„ูŽู…ู

42. By God! Were their souls an acceptable sacrifice,
They would humbly offer themselves to the Command.

ูˆุชูŽุฎู’ุถูŽุนู ุฅุฌู’ู„ุงู„ุง ู„ู‡ู ูˆุชูุนูŽุธูู‘ู…ู

43. As they offered their necks to enemies in jihad,
Until their blood flowed, undaunted.

ูคูฃ. ูˆุฑูŽุงุญููˆุง ุฅู„ู‰ ุงู„ุชูŽู‘ุนู’ุฑูŠูู ูŠูŽุฑู’ุฌููˆู†ูŽ ุฑุญู…ุฉู‹
ูˆู…ุบูุฑุฉ ู…ูู…ูŽู‘ู† ูŠุฌูˆุฏู ูˆูŠููƒุฑูู…ู

44. But they humbled themselves to the ritual,
A humiliation for slaves, branding them.

ูคูค. ูู„ูู„ู‡ู ุฐุงูƒูŽ ุงู„ู…ูˆู‚ูู ุงู„ุฃุนุธู…ู ุงู„ุฐูŠ

45. When they finished that burden
Which was obligatory, fulfilling their vows completely,

46. He called them to the Ancient House, to visit it;
So welcome, O visitors, most generous and noble!

ูˆูŽุฅู†ูู‘ูŠ ุจู‡ู…ู’ ุจูŽุฑูŒู‘ ุฃุฌููˆุฏู ูˆุฃุฑู’ุญูŽู…ู

47. By God! How splendid was their visit to it,
When those prizes were attained, fantastically!

48. By God! The favors there, the grace,
Kindness, benevolence, generosity, and mercy!

Their ritual stations for the sacrifice, seeking its merit.

68. To revive a rite of their forefather, revered.
If their souls were an acceptable sacrifice,
