1. Bair Al-Azzab said to Rawdah Ahmad
We have a bathhouse and built homes

2. With thousands of spouts flowing
And clouds thundered above us and lightening struck

3. So be truthful, O failure of fears
What sense and subtleties are in you

4. And whoever walked the path of dissent
Meets a monster in the darkness, lying still

5. Rawdah replied calmly
Slow down, O flame of Al-Qazali

6. Hold back, by God, from my path
There is no such whiteness in you

7. For Al-Raziqi, his gold is plated
He described the vineyards of Dal land

8. Making up its mornings a thousand riyals plated
Like gold in hand when it's minted

9. So Bair Al-Azzab quickly replied
Beauty itself has gathered and said

10. Among ruins, its echo remained
And joy for me grows every day

11. As for grapes, they're found in abundance
While wood has electricity and lamps are missing

12. And this cannot be counted among pottery
Yet you have become a place for worries

13. Rawdah said, boasting
May your love be sacrificed, you're challenging me

14. And every moment you're competing with me
While justice's sword is witness between us

15. As for me, I carry Hatem's burden
Good fortune is with me, always accompanying

16. My mosque, how many universes are in it
A mosque for all people, and more I can add

17. Bair Al-Azzab laughed in response
Her face showing joy and movement

18. She said, "I have a bathhouse, market and street
And a broker for builders and carpenters too"

19. We don't pride ourselves on mosques
Though each worshipper in the dark is bowing

20. We're only proud of the branch of a bent palm tree
On which the birds of joy are singing

21. Rawdah said with ease and speed
O chaste one, there is little modesty in you

22. O deficient in mind, O concealer
You are a path and place for Jews

23. I've known you forty years
You've never sold anything, you're no broker

24. Since when have you taken pride
Do you have a mother or face that's decaying?

25. I replied, You're not one of the old women
Your cheeks are like furrowed plowed land

26. How many furrows show age on your forehead
And your chin is like a spinning bobbin

27. Don't be proud among girls
The lady of the house is not like young women

28. Far it is! The cucumber is not like gourds
Nor the smooth stone like coarse pumice

29. Rawdah said, reasonable words
Unreasonable talk does not decrease reason

30. As for me, I have manners and ethics
Fools cannot sway me with absurd words

31. My gardens are watered with running streams
Flowing branches poured on my streams

32. And the frogs within me and around are croaking
The path from it has drunk and overflowed

33. Bair Al-Azzab replied fairly
If you have a stream, I have thousands

34. May God not help you, old woman of prating
Is this your forehead or a lit firebrand?

35. I have a love gentler than wine
And in my branches, doves are moaning

36. Over my garden, the clouds are crying
While you are a nomad among settled folk

37. Rawdah said, up to here it was
Her anger was rising with smoke

38. The quarrel flowed from Sa'wan's land
And its marshes with reedbeds were overflowing

39. After that she broke off the dispute
The bricks and patches were revealed

40. Don't trouble yourself, O mother of necklaces
The sword of justice between us is unsheathed

41. The sword stood up and bared its blades
And said of Bair Al-Azzab there are charms

42. Within her is a gentle breeze with treasures
Nothing like her on earth can be found

43. And in the gardens are joy and good scents
The birds in its branches warble

44. And the clouds over it are fishnets
It has beautiful talk that is supported

45. When Thahban heard this speech, it went
He said, judge me in this conversation, O brothers

46. And he squeezed his waist and shone his brilliance
He said, listen to me, words that can't be matched

47. After that, Thaqban quarreled
And said it has wisdom and dignity

48. And the valley's speech is clear
And the village stood up to threaten them

49. Sa'wan rose up from there, challenging
When the informers and events multiplied

50. And fault-finders in speech intersected
He replied, pray God's peace on Muhammad

51. O people, what's the use of disgrace
And many words and wounding

52. Repeated folly and delusion are useless
Whoever's reason is complete, he is enough

53. Pray on him, O all the ruins
You are all opposing Sa'wan

54. Don't increase confusion, O prattlers
None of you exceeds another

55. Thahban said, “You have silenced me
Leaving me among the women, feeble

56. And Thaqban rose with babbling words
Though his talk is coarse and blackened

57. After him Jadar stood, dressed
His fine cloak, leaning on his staff

58. Raising his turban above and strutting
Lifting his robe, terrifying and loud

59. He said, by God, O Felayh, it’s me
Counted among the women, O Khazana

60. I’m veiled for you, this is our pact
This cage is yours, resembling a shack

61. When Barash heard this, he came forward
And said, “What is this talk, hmm?”

62. “Who is this speaking against my Sheikh Felayh?
One should protect a neighbor’s honor”

63. He squeezed the nape of Sa'wan's neck
And said, “This, Barash, is madness

64. You insult women and laborers here
I never thought you would threaten women”

65. Thamarmar said, “Don’t involve the group
And show pride and courage”

66. He said, “There is vileness in this talk
You should know your limit, not exceed the line”

67. When Sanaa heard this, she stood up
Mobilizing Al-Aqil's mosque, and prayed

68. Exposing Thaqban when he transgressed
And Barash collapsed from her fear

69. When Sa'wan heard, he was silent and stopped
He entered Felayh's mosque and covered himself

70. And said, “No one dares to extend his arm”
“I have silenced Thahban, a sick camel”

71. Sanaa called on people to hear
To take the good words and bring them back

72. She said, “When the sword is drawn, then strike
For I have made it an intermediary for my goal”

73. And she returned them all to their dens
For this matter's evil I have contained

74. The expert's confusion in this talk is confusion
Revealed by a prompter, though pledged
