1. My status is less than my right,
And my need is more than my livelihood.

2. The wisdom of the Creator in His creation -
Its depths are farther than my depths.

3. People - this one's garment is silk,
While that one complains of patch upon patch.

4. While you find one whose star is high
Yet his soul and morals are base and vile,

5. You find a poor man with clothes full of patches
Yet his mind and art are wondrously unique.

6. Fates predetermined in the unseen are veiled
And a wisdom that has confounded people.

7. I wasted my days at its door,
With bitterness in my hands and grief around my neck.

8. I knocked, crying out, complaining -
Perplexed between sanity and madness.

9. But I saw no sympathy nor did anyone dry my tears
Or listen to my knocking.

10. So I returned while regret burned my innards
And bitter sorrow choked my throat.

11. I came to not desire any need
More than the freedom of emancipation.

12. Let the sun shine with its lights
Or let it disappear from the horizon's stage -

13. It's all the same as long as what I want
Is above the vast, open space of my roads.

14. And let the days hurry on in their pace
Or walk slowly, gently here.

15. For the goal of all days, however long,
Is my goal, and excelling comes with racing ahead.

16. That which I exaggerated in lamenting
I found one day without any longing.

17. While my present draws far from its nearness -
From the tomorrow veiled from my horizon.
