1. What have I gained from my poetry and its splendor
Other than immortalizing the traces of my disgrace?
١. ماذا أفدت بأشعاري وروعتها
سوى علالة تخليد لآثاري
2. Immortality through borrowed words is nothing
But dirt and rocks for the despised.
٢. وما الخلود بمأثور لعارية
غير الخسيسين من ترب وأحجار
