1. I weep for Abdullah when
his fire was kindled before dawn
١. أَبكي لِعَبدِ اللَهِ إِذ
حُشَّت قُبَيلَ الصُبحِ نارُه
2. Bending the shoulders of night
He would not loosen his waist-wrapper for an ingrate
٢. طَيّانَ طاوي الكَشحِ ل
يُرخي لِمَطلَمَةٍ إِزارُه
3. He disobeys the miser if he wants
Glory stripped of its garment
٣. يَعصي البَخيلَ إِذا أَر
دَ المَجدَ مَخلوعاً عِذارُه
