Murra will know, wherever they may be,

that my protected land is not open to violation,

and that their neighbor’s milk-giving she-camel will go forth

among the clans in the morning as in the evening,

and by midmorning become freshly slaughtered meat among them,

which the divider apportions with lot-arrows.

And they thought I was likelier to break my oath,

and that I was more deserving of success.

When she bellows, already heaving, hamstrung,

the sick are distinguished from the healthy.

And the left hand, if it is harmed

by the right, cannot attain success.

Sons of Dhuhl son of Shayban, take it,

for there is no blame in its two blows.
