دَعينيleave me فَماfor there is no فيin اليَومَtoday مَصحىًsobering up لِشارِبٍfor a drinker
وَلاnor فيin غَدٍtomorrow أَقرَبَhow close اليَومَtoday مِنto غَدِtomorrow
Leave me, for today there is no sobering up for a drinker,
Let me drink, for there's no morning for a drinker
Nor tomorrow—how close today is to tomorrow!
And no tomorrow closer than today
دَعينيleave me فَإِنّيfor indeed I فيin سَماديرِdizzy visions سَكرَةٍdrunkenness
بِهاthrough it جَلَّgrew great هَمّيmy sorrow وَاِستَبانَand became clear تَجَلُّديmy fortitude
Leave me, for I am in the dizzy haze of drunkenness;
Let me drink, for in the cups of drunkenness
Through it my sorrow grew great, and my fortitude became clear.
My worries are appeased and my composure fades
فَإِنso if يَطلُعِrises الصُبحُthe dawn المُنيرُradiant فَإِنَّنيthen indeed I
I shall set out in the morning الهُوَيناat an easy pace غَيرَnot وانٍflagging مُفَرَّدِalone
So if the radiant dawn rises, then indeed I
And when the brilliant dawn breaks, I will go
Shall set out in the morning at an easy pace, neither flagging nor alone,
To hunt, alone and not the least bit tamed
وَأَصبَحُand I assail at dawn بَكراًBakr غارَةًa raid صَيلَمِيَّةًdevastating
يَنالُreaches لَظاهاits blaze كُلَّevery شَيخٍold man وَأَمرَدِand a beardless youth
And assail Bakr at dawn with a devastating raid,
And in the morning charge, my sword held high
Whose blaze reaches every old man and beardless youth.
Against all, young and old, without being blamed
